AXEL'S NURSERY

[All above photos taken by Matt McElligott]

I know it's taken forever for me to post these, but it's because I couldn't take a decent picture of the room to save my life! My photography skills are seriously lacking. Seriously. Ugh. That's where Matt comes in. Thank you, Matt!

Axel's room is by far my favorite room in our house. I think Luis would agree. It's the most complete feeling, and it was really fun to be bold and playful in our design. Axel loves it, too. He really enjoys staring at his chevron wall, and he sleeps like a champ in his crib!

Please, please, PLEASE ask any questions about where we got things, or how I did things. I will say that the "axel" sign, "hola" sign, embroidery hoop paintings, fox painting, bunting, and mobile were made by me. And the dresser and rocker are from thrift stores, but I will be more than happy to give sources for the other items in the nursery.

Be looking for another post about that quilt. My sister, Claire, made it for Axel and I just love it so much. It's the same one that I take all of his monthly photos on.

And just because I can't resist, here is a photo of Axel in his nursery, taken by my sister, Cate Gibson, at three days old. Sigh. I just love him so much!

(Cate is an awesome children's photographer in Denver, CO.)
